Last night I went outside to water my pants and was apprehinsive about some dogs that were baking at me, that was in my yard. I informed clay county sheriff dept. and I was told that they wer not required to inforce the leash law. It is still on the books but they wont do anything untill it hurts someone. Why do citizens have to wait to be bitten? There was a case just a few months ago were a child was hurt by a dog. Maybe if the dog was on a leash that would not have happened. We have laws on the books to protect all citizens. Big or little dogs can carry rabies. The officer was very nice about it but I knew he was alittle upset when he stepped in dog poo. It wasnt from my dog, i dont have one. I cannot own one where I live. If I did , I would keep it on a leash and clean up after it. Thank you Clay County leader for letting me vent and vent for others.
